This half-century of mountain films has made FIFAD one of the most important alpine film festivals in Switzerland and internationally. Every year it attracts more than 20'000 visitors during 8 days.

Directors from all over the world, mountaineers and adventurers of the highest level meet in Les Diablerets to offer the public the quintessence of mountain films and books.
Create memories of a lifetime in one of the most beautiful areas in the world: The Alps!
Majestic in both summer and winter, you can take advantage of some amazing hiking and pretty great skiing. Most other winter sports can be practiced here to: cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, ice skating and just walking on snow packed trails.
Summer offers many fun things too: fly tandem with qualified paragliding pilot, swim in the local pool, play tennis, take the bus to another village and explore.
So may things to do! And many off them are free in the summer thanks to the Welcome Card, available to anyone spending nights in hotels or private lodgings.

Gstaad: village of the stars
No visit is complete without a stroll through Gstaad, just a short 15 min away by car, or about 30 min by postal bus. Renowned the world over for its beauty, and very much the place to be for many wealthy people, you might just spot a well known actor or socialite, but they come here to be in peace, so no autograph requests allowed! :)
And depending on the season, a hot chocolate at Charly's or a glass of champagne at the Olden Hotel bar or the Palace is an experience not to be missed.

So much to do around Lake Geneva, or Lac Léman as it is locally called. Stroll the Quais from Villeneuve to Montreux and even Vevey. Visit Chillon Castle on the way, go up to The Manoir de Ban and see the Chaplin's world exhibit, hosted in his home.
Fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury? His statue is right by the lake in Montreux, and you can take a tour to see where he lived and recorded.
Many restaurants offer perch fillets, the local specialty, and you can sip a glass of wine or a cocktail right by the water'e edge. (See blog: Montreux and Lac Léman area)
